1. About Lobi
Lobi is an AI-powered learning aid for children, operated by [Your Pty Ltd name — to be registered] (ABN: [to be registered]), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Lobi is designed to support children's learning using evidence-based teaching methods. Lobi is NOT a replacement for qualified teachers, tutors, or educational professionals.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are creating an account for a child under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and you consent to their use of Lobi.
3. What Lobi Is and Is Not
Lobi IS:
- A learning aid that uses AI to guide children through educational activities
- Aligned to the Australian Curriculum v9.0
- Designed with evidence-based teaching methods
Lobi is NOT:
- A qualified teacher, tutor, or educational professional
- A medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic tool
- A substitute for professional educational assessment
- A guarantee of academic improvement
4. AI Limitations
Lobi uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to generate educational content. Like all AI systems, Lobi may occasionally:
- Make factual errors
- Provide explanations that are unclear or incomplete
- Misunderstand a child's question or response
Lobi is instructed to say "I'm not sure — let's check with your teacher" when uncertain, but this safeguard is not guaranteed to work in every case.
We recommend that parents discuss what their child learned with Lobi, just as they would after any lesson.
5. Children's Accounts
- Only parents or legal guardians may create accounts
- Parents are responsible for supervising their child's use of Lobi
- Children must not share personal information beyond what is entered in their profile by their parent
- Lobi includes emotional safety features: if a child expresses distress, Lobi will gently redirect to Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800)
6. What We Store and Don't Store
We store:
- Parent email address and account credentials
- Child profile information: first name, year level, state, learning needs, interests, workspace preferences
We DO NOT store:
- Conversation content — conversations are processed in real-time and never saved
- Browsing history or usage analytics beyond basic session metadata
- Any information shared with third parties for advertising

7. Anti-Addiction Design
Lobi is intentionally designed without:
- Streaks, points, scores, or leaderboards
- Variable reward mechanics
- Push notifications encouraging return use
- Any mechanism designed to maximise screen time
Sessions have time limits set by parents that cannot be overridden by children.
8. Pricing and Payments
During the beta period, Lobi is free. When paid plans are introduced:
- Payments will be processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor
- We never see, store, or handle your credit card details
- You may cancel at any time
- Refund policy will be published before paid plans launch
9. Intellectual Property
All Lobi content, design, code, and branding are owned by [Your Pty Ltd name]. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of Lobi without written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law:
- Lobi is provided "as is" without guarantees of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose
- We are not liable for any academic outcomes, grades, or educational results
- We are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided by Lobi
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass Lobi's safety systems or content filters
- Use Lobi for any purpose other than children's education
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or copy Lobi's AI system prompt
12. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
- Upon termination, all stored data is deleted
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of any material changes. Continued use of Lobi after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
